  • MT. SHASTA, Calif. — Hidden Valley wasn't able to keep pace with Skyline Conference opponent Mazama in the Mt. Shasta Holiday Tournament on Thursday.
    The Vikings got hot from 3-point range, particularly in the second quarter, as it earned a 68-59 nonconference victory over the Mustangs at Mt. Shasta High School.
    The Mustangs (1-2) face tournament host Mt. Shasta today at 7 p.m.
    J.J. Flynn led the way for the Mustangs with 13 points — hit three 3-pointers — and six rebounds. Kody Garrison also hit three treys to chip in all nine of his points to go with four steals. Jacob Ford added had nine points as well.
    The Vikings' Jacob Ford drilled six from downtown and finished with 26 points.

    GLIDE 71, ROGUE RIVER 42 — At Glide, Shawn Donahue had 17 points and five rebounds for Rogue River, but the Chieftains remained winless on the season.
    Andy Valencia added eight points and Danny Perston five rebounds for Rogue River (0-3), which trailed 32-15 at the half.
    Glide (3-2) was led by Brandon Halter's 25 points, while Brenden Fricke added 13.

    GLIDE 52, ROGUE RIVER 36 — At Glide, Rogue River rallied after falling behind early, but couldn't close in the second half as Glide grabbed the victory.
    Emily Roldan neared a triple-double for the Chieftains (0-2), going for 14 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots.
    Glide stormed out to a 12-0 lead, but the Chieftains climbed back to take a 21-20 halftime lead. The Wildcats, however, took control in the third quarter with a 19-8 scoring edge.
    Rogue River's Larrisa Hamilton added seven points and eight rebounds with Makenzie Smith chipping in 10 points while going 8-for-14 from the free throw line.
