Daniel Szczesniak of Significat offers custom-designed, laser-engraved, 8-by-10-inch plaques made of American red alder. The two-month-old company is a spinoff of another Medford firm, Northwest Gifts.
Anything from graphic designs to humorous, pithy or Scriptural sayings can be engraved on the $40 plaques. Significat also offers personalized, laser-engraved, 3-inch pocketknives for $34.95 and cedar bird houses for $29.95.
