Shootout goals by Southern Oregon's Tim Talty and Jeffrey Salzbrunn proved to be the difference in the Spartans' 4-3 overtime victory over the Seattle Totems in Western States Hockey League action at The RRRink on Saturday.
On Friday, the Spartans (12-7) edged the Totems (8-17) 5-4 after a shootout.
Southern Oregon jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals by Salzbrunn and Mike Kowicki before Frank Flight scored for Seattle in the second period.
Salzbrunn's third-period goal put the Spartans ahead 3-1, then Flight and MacKenzie Crews both scored to even the match.
After a scoreless overtime, Talty and Salzbrunn connected on goals to clinch the victory.
Southern Oregon goalkeeper Sean Buckley recorded 14 saves.
