KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Superior Stingray swimmer Breanna Sapienza finished 66th in the 200-yard butterfly and 86th in the 100-yard freestyle during Saturday's preliminary rounds of the Speedo Winter Junior National Championships at the University of Tennessee.

In the 200 fly, the 17-year-old Sapienza finished in 2 minutes, 8.83 seconds. She recorded a time of 52.29 in the 100 free.

The top eight in each event advanced to 'A' championship finals, where Megan Kingsley took first in the 200 fly (1:55.50) and Emily Allen in the 100 free (48.73).

Last year at the Speedo Short Course Junior National Championships in Austin, Texas, Sapienza finished second in the 'C' final of the 200 fly with a time of 2:01.36 and made the 'A' final while placing eighth nationally in the 100 fly.
