Arnold Paradis moved to Heaven to live with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Monday, December 10, 2012. He was born in Seattle, Wash. April 3, 1925 to David and Zoe Paradis. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps and received his wings at age 19. He flew B-17 and B-24 bombers in the Pacific Theater in World War II.

Arnold was a devoted husband and loving father. On February 18, 1950, he married the love of his life Catherine May Bowdish at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Flint, Mich. Arnold and Katie have eight children: Mary and Michael Mahar, Michele and Stuart Ervin, Patricia Paradis, Michael and Cheri Paradis, Gary Paradis, David and Mary Paradis, Lt. Col. Laura and Col. Steve Corbett, and Lisa Paradis; 20 grandchildren ranging in age from three-43; and 16 great-grandchildren.

When Arnold and Katie moved to Medford in 1954 they purchased Independent Truck Line which became Paradis Transfer and Storage, Inc. All of the children worked for the business by working in the office, or by loading and unloading the trucks. Paradis Transfer moved over 30,000 people in and out of the valley before it was sold in 1980. In 1967 Arnold successfully test drove and set up triples from Ashland to Portland. Oregon has allowed trucks to pull three trailers since that time.

Arnold was a member of the Medford Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul Society, The Third Order of St. Francis, and the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America.

A Rosary will be held at Perl Funeral Home Friday, December 14, at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Arnold's blessed, exciting life with Jesus, Catherine, children, family, and friends will be held Saturday, December 15, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church.

Please consider making a donation to St. Vincent de Paul in Arnold's memory.
