The necessary thing is after all but this; solitude, great inner solitude. Going into oneself for hours meeting no one - this one must be able to attain. Rainer Maria Rilke

Hedy Woodville passed away peacefully in Medford Wednesday, December 5, 2012, two months short of her 90th birthday.

Born in Munich, Germany, she spent most of her life with her beloved husband Robert in the Rogue Valley.

Pastor David Campbell presided over the memorial ceremony held at Eagle Point National Cemetery, where a small gathering of close family and friends said their goodbyes.

Her sons, Richard and Tony, as well as her granddaughters, Elisabeth and Sophie, will remember her for her love of books.

Ah, how good it is to be among people who are reading! Rainer Maria Rilke
