Snow could fall on the valley floor by Monday night as a series of storms bear down on the region creating possible blizzard conditions at times.
The snow level is predicted to drop to 1,500-foot elevation with more chances of snow into Tuesday as early holiday travellers hit the roads, according to the National Weather Service Medford office.
Chain advisories are being issued for mountainous areas including the Siskiyou Summit, which had eight inches of snow from recent storms by Sunday evening.
The Oregon Department of Transportation already issued warnings of snow flurries and spots of ice on the summit Sunday, urging motorists to carry chains or have traction tires.
