The Sterling Bank branch on Stewart Avenue in Medford was robbed just before closing time Friday evening, police said.
The suspect entered the bank at 5:47 p.m. and approached a teller. The man handed the teller a note demanding money. No gun was seen.
The man left with an undisclosed amount of cash and was last seen heading north through an alley east of the bank.
The suspect is described as a white male, who stands approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 180 and 190 pounds.
He appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He had red and brown facial hair.
He wore a black Nike backpack with silver lining on the straps. He wore blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a camouflage baseball cap. Covering his hands were gray batting gloves.
It marked the second time this bank was robbed this year. The previous robbery occurred in September. The suspect in that robbery was arrested two days after the crime occurred.
