Skating season is here

Bundle up, it's cold outside, and that means it's perfect weather for ice skating.

The Ashland Rotary Centennial Ice Rink, at 95 Winburn Way across from Lithia Park in Ashland, is open today.

From 8 a.m. to noon, hockey players are welcome to drop in for free. The rink isn't staffed and no rentals are available, but bring gear and work on game skills.

Open skating for skaters of all ages is available from 1 to 6 p.m. and from 6:30 to 10 p.m. These sessions are suitable for families. Admission is $3.50 for kids younger than 14 and $4 for adults; skate rentals are $2.20. Hot chocolate, coffee and snacks are available.

For more information, prices and daily and holiday schedules, see or call 541-488-9189. The rink will be open through Feb. 26, weather permitting.
