  • Darrell left us to meet his Heavenly Father. He passed on December 25, 2012. Born to Merle and Dorothy Hicks, May 1, 1929 in Redmond, Ore., Darrell joined the Air Force in May 1946 and served in Hawaii and the Philippines. He met Anna White, August 1961. They married March 2, 1962 in Crescent City, Calif., and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.
    They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mushrooming. Darrell's hobbies were rock hounding and making beautiful lapidary jewelry.
    He is survived by his wife, Anna; sister, Beverly Adams; his five children, Darrell Jr., Valerie Baraquin, Vickie Blanar, Kathryn Savia, and Daniel Hicks; 11 grandchildren, Mandy, Chelsie, Brandon, Elijah, Abriannah, Kary, Anna, Angelica, Christopher, Danika, and Camarren; three great-grandchildren, Cecil, Katy, and Issiah; and many nieces and nephews.
    His last years he resided at Ashley Manor.
    He was preceded in death by his siblings, Pete, Duane, Suzanne, and Jan.
    Services will be Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Conger-Morris in Central Point, to be followed by interment at Eagle Point National Cemetery. For information contact Conger-Morris at 541-664-3361.
