Updated 6:35 p.m. A 29-year-old homeless man who usually stays in Ashland was found dead along the railroad tracks behind the La Clinica Women's Health Center at 910 S. Central Ave., Medford.
Police recognized him, but his name won't be released until his family is notified, Medford police said.
Police said the man wasn't dressed for staying out in winter weather.
11:30 a.m. A man was found dead this morning near the railroad tracks behind the La Clinica Women's Health Center at 910 S. Central Ave., Medford.
Medford police Sgt. Brent Mak said the body was an adult male and there was no apparent trauma, though the investigation is continuing.
Police were alerted to the body at about 10 a.m., Mak said. Medford officers, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and a medical examiner are on scene.
The body was found near the tracks behind La Clinica and a strip mall housing a Purple Parrot, dog spa and other businesses.
Updated 3 p.m. The body was found on the west side of the railroad tracks. The site coordinator at the Women's Health Center said a homeless man approached a La Clinica employee on her way into work and reported the body. She called police.
