Choir to perform at Medford United Church of Christ

The New Pacer Singers, a 40-voice chamber choir from the University of Tennessee at Martin, will perform during the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, at Medford Congregational United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson St.

"Living a Jewish Life" classes at Ashland temple

A series of adult education classes taught by Rabbi Joshua Boettiger on "Living a Jewish Life" will run from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays, Jan. 10 through Feb. 28, at Temple Emek Shalom, 1800 E. Main St., Ashland.

Mindfulness meditation class led by Zen students

A mindfulness meditation class will be offered from 4 to 6 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 6 through Feb. 24, at the Mountain Meadows Clubhouse, 857 Mountain Meadows Drive, Ashland.

Sacred Heart holds program for former worshippers

Sacred Heart Parish will hold a free program for baptized and confirmed Catholics who have been away from the church but want to come back to the faith. It meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays, Jan. 8 through Feb. 12, at the parish offices, 517 W. 10th St., Medford.

The program uses a video and discussion format with guest speakers and others who will share their experiences as returning Catholics. It is not a Bible study or forum for debating church doctrine, nor is it an introduction for those seeking to join the Catholic Church for the first time. Call 541-779-4661.

Seventh-day Adventists serve a healthy luncheon

The Medford Seventh-day Adventist Church's Complete Health Improvement Program will hold a buffet of healthy vegetarian pizza and salad at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, at the church, 1900 Greenwood St., Medford.

Ashland Zen Center holds practice for beginners

Ashland Zen Center will hold an informal day of Zen practice for beginners from 9 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at 740 Tolman Creek Road, Ashland. The event will include introductions to seated and walking meditation, a silent lunch and discussion about practice led by Zen priests.
