Dorothy Ann Jarrell passed away peacefully at home in Ashland, Ore., Thursday morning, December 27, 2012. Her four children and son-in-law were with her.

Dorothy came to Ashland with her family in 1970. Following her husband's death in 1971, Dorothy worked for the Ashland Chamber of Commerce and then for Southern Oregon University serving as scheduling clerk at the Stevenson Union until her retirement. She loved the southern Oregon countryside, enjoying camping, fishing, and hunting morels.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, John Harvey Jarrell, of Ashland; father, William Hampton DeVere; and mother, Audrey June DeVere, both of Grand Junction, Colo.; and her brother, Merlin DeVere, of Seattle, Wash. She is survived by her four children; Sandy Speasl, and Jim Jarrell, both of Ashland, Dan Jarrell, of Anchorage, Alaska, and Vickie Jarrell of Sadorus, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
