Don Mayers, known to local radio listeners as Gemineye, has been named operations manager at Radio Medford.

Don Mayers, known to local radio listeners as Gemineye, has been named operations manager at Radio Medford.

Mayers will oversee the programming, promotions and on-air talent for all six of Radio Medford's stations.

Mayers, a Portland native who attended Southern Oregon University, has more than 20 years experience as a radio personality in Medford and Portland.

He was previously the program director and morning host at KIFS-FM.


Coyote Trails School of Nature has named Lynne Reardon office manager at its Medford headquarters, located at the former Jefferson Nature Center at U.S. Cellular Field. Reardon brings 30 years of business experience with her, including grant writing and editing, business and program management, teaching and environmental compliance. She earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a master's degree in environmental studies from San Jose State University.

She most recently served as director of a nonprofit community center in rural Northern California and previously helped start a nonprofit in the San Francisco Bay Area.


Pacific Retirement Services said that Travis Staples, who has been interim executive director of Friends House, one of its affiliates in Santa Rosa, Calif., has been appointed to the post permanently.

Staples is a licensed nursing home administrator in Oregon and California. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a certificate of applied finance and economics from Southern Oregon University.

During his college days in Ashland, Staples was an intern at PRS, which owns and manages several continuing care retirement communities and senior affordable housing centers in five states.

After serving in various capacities at PRS headquarters, he was hired as a management analyst, working concurrently as the interim executive director of Friends House.


John Blackhurst, a partner with Hornecker, Cowling, Hassen & Heysell, has been elected board president of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Oregon.

Other officers for 2013 are Bob Hirt, vice president, and Richard Muckey, who is vice president of lending and support for Rogue Federal Credit Union, as secretary-treasurer.
