  • Annie Maurer and Bryan Sims were married Sept. 1, 2012, in Medford. Father Vandehey of Sacred Heart Catholic Church officiated the ceremony.
    The bride is the daughter of Dick and Sue Maurer of Medford. She is a 2002 graduate of St. Mary's School and a 2006 graduate of the University of Portland with a bachelor's degree in nursing. She works as a nurse in the emergency department at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco.
    The groom is the son of Steve and Carol Sims of Corvallis. He is a 2002 graduate of Crescent Valley High School and attended Oregon State University. He works as an entrepreneur in San Francisco.
    Maid of honor was the bride's sister, Meaghan Maurer of Portland. Bridesmaids were friends Erica Feldmann of Portland, Katy Carriere of Portland, Katie Allender of Denver, and the groom's sister, Brittany Sims.
    Co-best men were the groom's friends, Steve Ullmer of San Francisco and Tom Loika of Seattle. Groomsmen were friends Mike Allender of Denver, Erik Quandt of San Francisco, Zack Marker of Davis, Calif., and Richard Battle-Baxter of Ithica, N.Y.
    Flower girl was the bride's cousin, Morgan Maurer of Medford. Ring bearer was the bride's cousin, Jack Shepherd of Costa Mesa, Calif. Candle-lighters were the mothers of the bride and groom.
    A reception hosted by the bride's parents and the couple followed the ceremony. Following a honeymoon in Europe, the newlyweds are living in San Francisco.
