Author to discuss stroke-recovery memoir

Ruth Resch, author of a memoir on her recovery from a stroke, will discuss her recovery and the book at noon Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Temple Emek Shalom, 1800 E. Main St., Ashland.

The event is free and open to the public.

Resch's memoir, "Without Utterance: Tales from the Other Side of Language," discusses how the brain can rearrange information when prompted. Resch will discuss how she lost her speech after suffering a stroke just as she began her career as a clinical psychologist and professor. She also will bring some of her artwork.

Attendees should bring a bag lunch. Refreshments will be served. For more information, contact 541-858-8819.
