Jackson County Library Services' Winter Reads program will run from this week through Feb. 18 at area libraries. The program is intended to encourage more reading during winter months by getting readers to track their reading habits.
Participants can pick up a reading log from a local library or print one from the link on www.jcls.org. Once four books are completed — audiobooks also count — the log may be turned in at the library, with participants entered in a drawing. A new log may then be started.
The winning reader can choose either a used book or book bucks for the Friends of the Library book sales. After Feb. 21, everyone who has returned reading logs will have their names put into a drawing for a grand prize of a dinner certificate.
Call a local branch library or 541-774-6996.
