Mabel Waite, 97, of Medford, Ore., beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away January 3, 2013. Mabel was born Christmas Eve, 1915 in Lexington, Neb., the daughter of Frank and Mary Roth. She married Reese Waite, November 24, 1931, in Elko, Nev. They lived in Idaho for a few years before moving to the Rogue Valley.
She loved family life, which included many outdoor activities such as horseback riding, camping, hiking, fishing, and was always up for new adventures.
She is survived by her daughter, Marlene Workman; grandsons, Bruce and Melvin Workman, and Rick and Rodney Riggs; granddaughters, Dana Hoop, Victoria Norris, Shelly Riggs Gunter, and Kelly Smith; along with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Reese Waite; brothers, Clarence, Harry, and Jack Roth; sisters, Opal Riha and Edna Church; son, Larry Waite; and daughter, Jeanette Andrews.
During her long life she displayed love, warmth, joy, kindness, and gentleness to many people and will be missed by everyone whose life she touched. We do however, take great joy and are comforted in knowing the marvelous reception she is having in Heaven!
Her family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the wonderful caregivers at Blossom Hills Adult Foster Care Home along with Providence Hospice.
A graveside service will be held at Siskiyou Memorial Park Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Mark Burton, Medford Friends Church will officiate. Arrangements by Conger-Morris Funeral Directors.
