Soccer players visit Medford

Members of the Portland Timbers will head to Medford Saturday, as part of the team's six-city tour.

Touring players will first attend at tree planting along Bear Creek, which will start at 10 a.m. near the end of Spencer Street.

Players will then head to the Santo Community Center, 701 N. Columbus Ave., Medford, for two free youth soccer clinics from 2 to 5 p.m. The first will be for children from ages 5 to 8, held from 2 to 3 p.m. A clinic for children ages 9 through 13 will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Both clinics are full, organizers said.

The visit will conclude with a meet-and-greet event from 7 to 9 p.m. at 4 Daughters Irish Pub, 126 W. Main St., Medford. The event is open to all ages and attendees can win autographed Timbers merchandise and prizes.
