  • Members of the Portland Timbers soccer team will visit Medford Saturday, Jan. 12, as part of a six-city tour.
    The players will attend a tree-planting along Bear Creek at 10 a.m. near the end of Spencer Street. They then will head to the Santo Community Center, 701 N. Columbus Ave., Medford, for two free youth soccer clinics from 2 to 5 p.m.
    The first will be for children age 5 to 8, held from 2 to 3 p.m.
    A clinic for children age 9 through 13 will be held from 4 to 5 p.m.
    Both clinics are full, organizers said.
    The visit will conclude with a meet-and-greet event from 7 to 9 p.m. at 4 Daughters Irish Pub, 126 W. Main St., Medford.
    The event is open to all ages, and attendees can win autographed Timbers merchandise and prizes.
