Al Rocha passed away December 26, 2012, at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Ore. Al was born July 17, 1932, in Gilroy, Calif., and was raised in Watsonville, Calif. where his family owned dairies.

On June 20, 1954, he married Rita G. Fletcher. They met at their high school football game. The couple moved to Eagle Point, Ore. in 1962, where they continued the dairy business at Rocha Farms. He also took time to drive the Eagle Point School bus rural route for several years.

After selling the dairy he worked for Champion Metal Co. Upon retirement, he thoroughly enjoyed driving a John Deere tractor (again) mowing the greens for local golf courses. Al enjoyed visiting with his friends, flea markets, metal detecting, wood working, collecting antique carpenter tools, and was a great jack-of-all-trades kind of guy, offering to help friends and neighbors who needed anything built or repaired. Several of his designed birdhouses are in the gardens of his neighbors at Creekside Estates where he lived.

Al is survived by his wife, Rita Rocha, of Phoenix, Ore.; his sons, Marc A. Rocha, (Sheryl) of Eugene and Wayne A. Rocha, of Springfield, Ore.; grandchildren, Jessica Singleton (Jeremy) and Kevin Rocha; great grandchildren, Blake Singleton and Paige Elise Singleton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio and Angelina Rocha.

A memorial is planned at a later date.
