Randy passed away on New Year's Day. Randy was raised in the Medford area and attended a private elementary school there. In his early years he enjoyed snow skiing at Mt. Ashland and Mt. Shasta. Later he also enjoyed water skiing at Lake Shasta. He was good, and had a dare-devilish quality at both sports and enjoyed showing off. He was a good artist and when he was young he could transform a simple drawing into something spectacular. Randy loved animals and one of his childhood pictures show him as a baby kissing the family dog. His life always seemed to have a cat, dog, or both.

The family eventually moved to Northern California where Randy attended a private school and then joined the service. He later worked at his father's tire store for many years. Although the Medford area always seemed to draw him back, the place of his childhood and the beauty of the Rogue River valley held a special place in his heart.
