William Bill Savard, 62, passed away December 10, 2012, at the Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura, Calif. He passed away quietly in the early morning, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born July 13, 1949, in Frankfurt, Germany. He was adopted by Art and Dorothy while Art was serving in the Army and stationed there; Bill himself served in the Navy, both abroad and at home. It was while he was stationed at Point Mugu and volunteering at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, Calif. that met his future wife, Rosemary. They were married January 31, 1976. He spent the remainder of his life as a registered nurse, traveling at first but then ultimately settling in Ashland.

For the entirety of his life, Bill was dedicated to those around him, whether it was in his capacity as husband, father, neighbor, professional, or friend. He loved to connect with people and to share ideas for hours. He also loved the peace of just listening to his music or escaping to Eastern Oregon with his wife.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Dorothy Savard. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; his son, Timothy and wife, Diana; his son, Sean; his older brother, James and wife, Kathy; and his nephew, Matthew.

Those he left behind will remember his vividness, his kindness, and his amazing hugs.
