  • Opens Saturday, Jan. 19 — Ashland Contemporary Theatre will premiere local playwright Molly Best Tinsley's “Pompadour,” the story of a woman who became the titled mistress of French King Louis XV, at 8 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 19 and 26 and Feb. 2, and 2 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 20 and 27 and Feb. 3, at the Ashland Community Center, 59 Winburn Way, Ashland.

    Jeannine Grizzard stars as Madame de Pompadour, a woman who became the titled mistress of French King Louis XV. Peggy Rubin of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival directs.
    Tickets cost $15, $12 for seniors and students, and may be purchased at Paddington Station in Ashland, Grocery Outlet in Medford or www.ashlandcontemporarytheatre.org. Reservations are available by calling 541-646-2971.
