  • KLAMATH FALLS — Caleb Allen hit a pair of enormous shots to keep the Rogue Valley Adventist boys basketball team undefeated in the Mountain Valley League.
    Allen drained the go-ahead 3-pointer in overtime after putting in the game-tying basket in regulation as the Red Tailed Hawks prevailed 58-57 over host Triad on Thursday.
    "The kids kept their heads and kept their cool," said RVA coach Mike Glasgow. "It was a good effort and a really big win for us."
    Allen knocked home his 3-pointer in overtime with 17 seconds left. The Wolves had three shots during their final possession, one of which was blocked by Allen, sealing the victory for RVA.
    The Red Tailed Hawks (11-1, 7-0 MVL) also ran a play in the post for Allen at the end of regulation. He made a dropstep move on his defender in front of the basket to knot the score at 55-all.
    Allen led four players in double figures, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds and had two blocks.
    RVA's Micah Neufeld added 16 points, Jonathan James 11 and Jonathan Alvarez went for 10 points and five assists. Austin Petray pulled down 13 rebounds to go with four points.
    Thomas Holland poured in a game-high 23 points to lead the Wolves.

    TRIAD 62, ROGUE VALLEY ADVENTIST 40 — At Klamath Falls, Rogue Valley Adventist had a difficult time hanging with the Mountain Valley League's top squad.
    The Red Tailed Hawks (3-12, 1-7 MVL) were led by Kendra Haugen's 14 points and 12 rebounds. Ashton Petray chipped in 12 points and Kaelyn Scott generated seven points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
    Sara Estabrook scored 21 points to pace the Wolves in the victory.
