  • Wells Fargo donated $1,000 to each of 11 elementary schools in Southern Oregon Thursday at a breakfast event in Medford.
The schools are Howard, Jefferson, Jackson, Oak Grove, Roosevelt, Washington and Wilson elementary schools in Medford, Walker Elementary School in Ashland, Central Point Elementary School, White City Elementary School, and Lincoln Elementary School in Grants Pass.
All of the recipients selected by Wells Fargo are Title I schools, a federal designation indicating they have a high number of students from low-income families. Principals will determine how to use the unrestricted funds for their respective schools.
The Medford library will screen "All the Kings Men" from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 205 S. Central Ave.
The film is based on a novel by Robert Penn Warren and portrays the life of Willie Stark, a character loosely based on Louisiana Gov. Huey Long.
