  • Harry (Bill) William Ward was taken to Heaven after a ten-month battle with cancer Tuesday, January 15, 2013, with his loving wife, Kathy, by his side. Bill is now at peace with his loving Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bill was born in Medford, Ore. August 6, 1937. He graduated from Klamath Falls Union High School in 1955. At age 18, Bill went to work for Pacific Power and Light and retired after 40 years with the company.
He liked to fish, golf, camp, and most of all, hunt with his wife, Kathy. Bill attended Applegate Christian Fellowship. He had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and praise the Lord. The church sponsored a father, son/daughter fish camp each year where Bill enjoyed cooking the hot cakes.
He is survived by his wife of 40 year, Kathy; stepsons, Mike (Dede) Soderlund; granddaughters, Laurel (Paul) Rosas and Kaitlin Sonderlund, both of Medford, Ore.; Kirk (Melodee) Soderlund, of Medford; Bill's daughters, Jan Vaden, Cindi Goode, and Lori May, all of Portland, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; niece, Jeannie Cutbertson; and nephews, Mike, Steve, and Dave Campbell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry and Dorothy Ward; sister, Judy Campbell; and brother-in-law, John Campbell, of Junction City, Ore.
At Bill's request, no service is planned. A private gathering to celebrate his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of gifts or flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association or charity of your choice.
A heartfelt thanks to Dr. Poisson and all his staff and to the Providence Hospice caregivers.
