  • After a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease, Mary (Howard) Crawford passed away November 29, 2012. She was 72. She was born March 3, 1940 in Martinez, Calif. In the 1940s she moved with her family to the Rogue Valley, where she lived most of her life. In 1959, she graduated Crater High School in Central Point, Ore., and was voted girl of the year and queen of the prom. Mary worked as a social worker for many years for Jackson County helping young people become educated and trained on how to find jobs. Mary loved her dogs and cats and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She became an avid exercise enthusiast and enjoyed nature hiking with her friends and family.
    Mary is survived by her three sisters and one brother; Pat Hogue, Cathy Howard, Jan Vernon, and Ed Trueblood. Private family services will be held at a later time.
