Ron Marcacci was born May 25, 1938 in Vallejo, Calif. to Aldo and Ruth Marcacci. He married the love of his life Cindy, in 1959. They moved to Petaluma, Calif. and raised their three children there for over 30 years. In 2002, they retired and moved to Shady Cove, Ore. They moved to a wonderful neighborhood and met many good friends. He passed away January 2, 2013, shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He was at home surrounded by his loving family.

Ron was a talented craftsman. He started as a florist and went on to win many floral awards. He made bridal bouquets and flower arrangements for his daughters' weddings, and for many friends as well. He had a knack for making dried flower arrangements and birdhouses that he would construct and his wife Cindy would decorate.

He drove a milk tanker truck for Clover Creamery for many years and was a lifetime Teamster member. He went on to start Marcacci & Son Landscaping with his son, Ronnie Jr. They entered landscaping shows and won many awards for their landscape designs.

He had a great love of the outdoors. As a young man he would abalone dive and fish all the streams. His love of that grew into fly fishing and making and tying his own flies. He loved to hunt deer. One of his greatest times was belonging to the Willow Creek Hunting Club. He met many lifetime friends through that wonderful club. Many of those friends went on out-of-state hunting trips together. That was a love he and his son shared. He was thrilled this past November when he got his first Oregon black tail deer with his good friend Ben. He was beaming.

Ron loved all things from the'50s. He bought a 1950 panel truck that he and his son started restoring. It was completed after 18 years in memory of his son. He entered many car shows and won top trophies for his beloved hot rod.

His love of fishing brought them to the Rogue River. Some of his most memorable days were spent fishing on Lost Creek Lake and the beautiful Rogue with his first mate Stephen. He met his buddies daily at Phil's Frosty for morning coffee and the latest events.

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Jr.; and his father, Aldo Marcacci.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Cindy; his daughter, Julie; his daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Tony; his grandchildren, Christina (Kirk), Stephanie (Doug), Ashley, Angelina, Jordan, Kellene, and Kyle; his five great-grandchildren, Ella, Jackson, Addison, Wyatt, and Emily. He made a last hometown visit for Thanksgiving spending time with each and every one of them. He was such a proud Papa. He is also lovingly survived by his mother, Ruth; his beloved brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Sandie; adored sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda and Stephen; and his favorite cousins, Joyce and Tim, and his friend of over 50 years Larry. He had many nieces, nephews, and good friends who he loved. He will surely be missed.

We send our deepest gratitude to Providence Hospice and his wonderful caregiver Barbara. She is an amazing, loving woman who helped our entire family through Dad's final hours. We are forever grateful.
