SALT LAKE CITY — Jeff Salzbrunn, Mike Kowicki and Dan Doyle each came through with shootout goals, giving the Southern Oregon Spartans a 3-2 victory over the Salt Lake City Moose in WSHL hockey Saturday at the Accord Ice Center.

SALT LAKE CITY — Jeff Salzbrunn, Mike Kowicki and Dan Doyle each came through with shootout goals, giving the Southern Oregon Spartans a 3-2 victory over the Salt Lake City Moose in WSHL hockey Saturday at the Accord Ice Center.

The Spartans won the shootout 3-0, with goaltender Sean Buckley earning the win after allowing two power play goals in the first period and nothing the rest of the way.

Avik Bordak gave the Spartans (18-12) a quick 1-0 lead barely a minute into the game off an assist by Salzbrunn and Brandon Bronze. The Moose (7-17) answered with two goals in a 20-second span at the end of the first period by Alex Pommerville and Wayne Hoffman.

Southern Oregon's Taylor McConnell tied the game with a power play goal late in the second.
