Thomas Allen Mills slipped peacefully away at home, January 20, 2013 with his family beside him.
He was born in Blanco, Texas July 2, 1939 to W.T. and Alice Mills. He grew up in Hilt, Calif.
Tom joined the USAF in 1957. He married the love of his life, Sandra Anthous, June 21, 1959. Tom and Sandy had two sons.
Tom was a heavy-equipment operator and owner/operator of his own trucking business for most of his working years. He loved his last few years working for VISAR Construction, driving the "blue dump truck" and sitting at the "round table" with friends solving the problems of the world.
Fishing for sturgeon on the Columbia and trout at the local lakes was a joy for Tom.
Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sandy Mills, sons Skip Mills and Mark (Virginia) Mills. He is also survived by his sister Mima Michaelis, brother Fred Mills, five grandchildren, four great-granddaughters, many nieces and nephews, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and his mother-in-law.
Tom was a good man with a warm and caring heart and was considered to be family to many of his friends. "We all love you Papa."
Tom's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Charles Dibb, Dr. EE L. Wan, and nurse Jenn Bullock.
Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Asante Hospice.
Services for Tom will be Saturday, January 26, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at the Conger-Morris Central Point Chapel.
