    Jeanne Ann Higinbotham (Norris), 72, of Medford, Oregon, was taken to Heaven January 17, 2013. She fought a brave battle with a two and half year long extended illness. She passed away at Providence Medford Medical Center surrounded by her family.
    Jeanne was born February 10, 1940, in Ashland, Ore. She was the eldest of eight children belonging to Richard and Elizabeth Norris. Her early years were spend between New Jersey and the family home in Central Point, Ore. where she attended elementary school and Crater High School.
    Jeannes fondest memories where of the many times she would visit with her grandparents at their summit lodge on the Siskiyou's as a child.
    After high school, she met and married James L. Duncan and from that marriage came one daughter, Lori J. Duncan. They were married for several years, then divorced in 1980.
    Jeanne worked as a cashier and meat wrapper at the Talent Drive-In Market in Talent, Ore. in the early 70s. She then went on to manage a neighborhood grocery store in Medford for many years afterward.
    Jeanne remarried again December 31, 1987, to James L. Higinbotham in Reno, Nev. They enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2007. Together they enjoyed and spoiled their three granddaughters. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, where they would spend many hours building the holiday decorations for their yard.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard (Butch) Norris; and husband, James L. Higinbotham. She is survived by her only daughter, Lori Relling (Steven); three granddaughters, Ashley, Brittney, and Stevie; one grandson, Travis; two great-granddaughters, Peyton and Johanna; brothers, James Norris (Doris), Orville Norris (Jaci), Frank Norris (Diana),and Clyde Norris (Sheryl); sisters, Helen McCann, and Nancy Bourgeois (Jerry); sister-in-law, Linda Norris; and several nieces, and nephews.
    Jeanne will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, and kind, giving generosity to everyone who knew her. There will be a celebration of life ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Diabetes Association.
