  • Former Eagle Point, Oregon resident, Steven Ray Seagoe, 57, passed away January 23, 2013, at the home of his sister, also of Eagle Point.
    Steve was born September 17, 1955, to Elsie V. Lee of Grants Pass, Ore. At two years old he was adopted by Elsie's husband, Thomas W. Seagoe, also of Grants Pass, Ore. The family moved to the Eagle Point area around 1960. After graduating Eagle Point High School in 1973, Steve pursued a lifelong career in the grocery industry. He was primarily employed with Sherm's Thunderbird Market until December 2012.
    An avid outdoorsman, Steve was always found exploring in the woods, fishing, hunting at the cabin, or spending time with his animals. He was also an amazing gardener who enjoyed cooking and sharing his bounty.
    Steve's faith in Jesus Christ increased throughout his life, through both joy and hardships - most recently during his nine year battle with cancer. Steve is survived by his four sisters, Linda Phillips (Steve), Sandra Barrett, Sharon Bateman (Mike), and Deanne Lawrence (Chris), and best friend, Dave Hood, who he considered to be a brother. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 17 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many other extended family members.
    Later in life Steve became acquainted with three additional siblings, Steve Parmelee, Marcia Coots, and Julie Warrington.
    A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013, at New Beginnings Church, 5889 Highway 62, Central Point. A meal that has been generously donated by Sherm's Thunderbird Market will follow.
    The family would like to give a speical thanks to Providence Hospice. Arrangements by Chapel of the Valley, Grants Pass, Ore. A private burial will be at Woodville Cemetery, Rogue River, Ore.
