Eric James Scott

Eric James Scott, 36, passed away at home December 8, 2012. Eric struggled for many years with a debilitating mental illness but he fought hard to take his life back and his progress far exceeded expectations. He worked as a Peer Counselor helping others through Jackson County Mental Health in Medford, Ore.

 

He is survived by his mother, Joy, and stepfather, Sandy; his father, Bob and stepmother, Marla; his grandmothers Marie and Betty; and siblings Perry, Serina, Jennifer, Travis, and Jaimee. He had five nephews (Robby, Tyler, Adrian, Noah, and Ian), and three nieces (Kaitlyn, Callen, and Jordan). Eric's death is an enormous loss and he will be forever missed by so many that loved him, but his life will never be a tragedy because of the wonderful person he was and the courage with which he faced his illness.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made in Eric's memory to NAMI-Southern Oregon, P.O. Box 8018, Medford, Ore. 97501 or HELP NOW! Advocacy Center, 33 N. Central Ave., Suite 211, Medford, Ore.


A memorial service will be held February 1, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at Mountain Christian Fellowship, 1 East Main Street in Medford.
