Peacefully Sunday morning, January 20, 2013, Mary passed into God's hands.

 

Her life began October 12, 1911, in Eureka, Calif. where she was raised. She was a graduate with an associate degree in business.


Her first job was as a bookkeeper for Pepsi in Eureka. In 1950 she moved to Ashland, Oregon. She worked for Monarch Feed and Seed in Medford, Oregon. She retired at age 65. A month later, she was working for the U.S. Forest Service. At 87 years old she retired again.


She and her sister walked the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Calif. when it first opened. She was very proud of this.


She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Mason; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; and two sisters.


Mary's hobbies were cats, gardening, and playing the mandolin for nursing homes.


A Catholic Mass and reception well be held at 8:30 a.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, at Sacred Heart Church, Medford, Ore. Burial will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Providence Hospice, 2033 Commerce Dr., Medford, OR 97504.
