  • After taking a commanding 3-0 lead, everything fell apart for the Southern Oregon Spartans hockey team on Sunday at The RRRink.
    The Idaho Junior Steelheads responded with four third-period goals, including the game-winner with 85 seconds remaining, as the Spartans were dealt a 4-3 defeat. Southern Oregon was swept in the three-game series.
    Sebastian Romeo netted consecutive goals for the Spartans (18-15-1) late in each of the first and second quarters, both on assists from Dan Doyle and Avik Bordak.
    Doyle also scored the Spartans' first goal just 18 seconds into the game. Bordak and Romeo assisted on the score.
    The Junior Steelheads' Jan Blasko drove in the go-ahead score while Kyle Mitsunaga tallied two of the squad's four goals in the third period.
