William ClydeBill Day, 72, passed away at his home in Gold Hill Saturday, January 26, 2013. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 SE 8th St., Grants Pass, OR 97526. Bill was born February 14, 1940, to Marie Hedges and Clyde Day, in Redmond, Ore.
He attended high school at Milo Academy in Days Creek, Ore. and LaSierra College, Riverside, Calif., with a major in Business. In 1966 he was employed by the Medford Fire Department and retired after 29 years as Battalion Chief.
He is survived by his wife, Judith of 38 years of marriage; four sons, Alan Day, Silverton, Ore., Neal Day, Milwaukie, Ore., Michael Day, Central Point, Ore., and Tom Day, Corvallis, Ore.; one daughter, Melissa Rogers, Brownsville, Ore.; and nine grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Richard Day; sister, Arlene Dean; son, Brian Day; and infant daughter Michelle Day.
Conger-Morris, Central Point Chapel will have a viewing Thursday, January 31, 2013 and Friday February 1, 2013. Cremation will follow.
Bill was a remarkable husband and father
and touched many lives.
