TALENT — Councilor Chris Auer has informed the City Council he intends to resign from his position within two months unless the council fills the seat sooner.
Auer sent the city a letter stating his intentions and citing family reasons for his resignation. He was elected to the Position 1 seat in November 2010.
He was one of four council members who voted on June 1, 2011, to not renew then City Manager Jay Henry's contract for the upcoming fiscal year.
Applications are being accepted for the post and can be picked up at City Hall, 110 E. Main St., or found on line at www.cityoftalent.org. The deadline for applications is Feb. 8. Candidates must live within city limits and be registered voters.
The City Council will appoint the new member, who would serve the remainder of the term through Dec. 31, 2014.
Mayor Bill Cecil is available for appointments to explain details and obligations of the position and can be reached at 541-535-1566 or email@example.com.
