Ron and Flo Downing of Eagle Point celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at Butte Creek Baptist Church. A dinner reception hosted by their children followed at Ashpole Community Center in Eagle Point with 110 guests attending.

Ron Downing married Flo Lindstrom Dec. 7, 1962, in Bell, Calif. They have three children: Don Downing of Key West, Fla.; Dan and Renee Downing of Depoe Bay; and Pam and Tim Arnold of Eagle Point; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The couple came to the Rogue Valley in 1998 from Placerville, Calif. Ron worked for the Department of Defense for 32 years and retired in 1994. Flo was a stay-at-home mother until their children were raised and then worked as a bookkeeper until retiring in 1992. After retirement, the couple were full-time RVers for three years until they settled in Eagle Point.

The couple are active in their church and enjoy traveling. In celebration of their anniversary, the couple recently went on a cruise to Alaska. In their free time Flo enjoys quilting, scrapbooking and serving. Ron serves three days a week at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics in White City.
