The hands of Father Time have dealt out a new deal in the fortunes of the Ugo Theatre, the pioneer photoplay house of Medford. One more change in management has come. This time Ross Kline and Harry H. Hicks of this city assume the direction of the little west side theatre.

The new owners announce that they will put the theatre back on its original basis — a picture house, pure and simple. They will put on four changes a week, Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. They also plan to run matinees Saturday and Sunday afternoons only. Four snappy up-to-the-minute licensed films will be shown at each performance.

The past year has been a busy one on the east side along building lines according to B.F. Fifer, a contractor and builder who is now engaged in erecting the Page Theater on East Main Street.

According to Mr. Fifer he has constructed during the past year eight fine residences east of Bear Creek ranging in cost from $2,000 to $16,000 a house. One is now under way on Minnesota Street which will cost $3,000 and two more for C.A. Knight will be started soon. This indicates the stride the east side is making in building lines.

The 1913 Spray Calendar contains some changes and additions which every fruit grower should notice. This office publishes an annual spray calendar and does not rely upon the stereotyped method of issuing a calendar good for several years.

Improvements in methods of spraying, together with the necessity of combating new pests as they appear, make it necessary to be up-to-date with a calendar.

During the past year or two there have been some new posts which heretofore have not troubled the fruit growers. Among thes are the "Rusty Leaf" mite of the pear (Phyllocoptes schlechtendall); Erinose mite of Grape (Erlophyes vitis); Cherry Fruit Saw-fly (Hoplocamps californica); Sclerotina Wilt of Tomato (Sclerotinia libertina). In each case remedial measures have been given, and growers should find no trouble in applying them.
