Berry Salad With Chocolate-Balsamic Vinegar

1/2 pound mixed salad greens, such as baby spinach, arugula, mesclun or a combination
1/2 cup sliced, fresh strawberries
1/2 cup fresh raspberries
1/2 cup high-quality blue-cheese crumbles, such as Stilton
Walnut pieces, for garnish
Chocolate-Balsamic Vinegar (recipe follows)
Salt and pepper, to taste

Wash the greens and spin dry. Divide among 4 salad plates. Divide the berries, cheese crumbles and walnuts among each portion of greens.

Drizzle each plate with some of the Chocolate-Balsamic Vinegar and season to taste with the salt and pepper.

Makes 4 servings.

CHOCOLATE-BALSAMIC VINEGAR: Slowly whisk 2 to 3 tablespoons high-quality chocolate syrup into 1 cup high-quality balsamic vinegar. Taste and add chocolate to reach desired flavor. Makes about 1 cup.
