  • The Medford Rogues baseball team has made a number of staff additions for the 2013 season, including five interns and the team's public address announcer, the team announced Thursday.
In addition, the Rogues added an assistant coach and signed their 41st player.
Shortstop Ray McIntire, a junior at the University of Nevada, has been added to the roster. Of the 41 players, seven have 10-day contract.
A native of Winters, Calif., McIntire projects to be the Wolf Pack's utility middle infielder when Nevada begins play Feb. 15.
Bill Greenstein will serve as the Rogues' public address announcer. Greenstein, a native of Ashland, handles public address duties for Southern Oregon University and has a long history as an announcer in the Rogue Valley.
In addition, the Rogues added five interns to the staff. Joining the team from Southern Oregon University are Jacob Coburn, Becca Eccleston and Katie Higgins. Shannon Seus joins the Rogues from Linn-Benton Community College, and Kyle Toy comes from the University of Oregon.
The Rogues' newest assistant coach is Steven Humble from the University of Illinois-Chicago. The Eugene native played two years at Chemetka CC before finishing his playing career at UIC. He is in his second season coaching at UIC after serving with current Oregon assistant Dean Stiles at Lane CC in 2011.
"I played with and against coach Humble from age 8 until college," Rogues head coach Josh Hogan said. "He is a very positive, driven person with a very good baseball IQ and understanding of people. I can't wait to go to battle with him."
