Robert Warrick

Robert Warrick, a longtime resident of the Rogue Valley, passed away January 30, 2013, at his home in Eagle Point. Robert was born near Silva, Wayne County, Missouri December 31, 1920 to Henry Harrison Warrick and Watie Iona (Stubbs) Warrick.


He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as a Cavalry trooper. He began his training on horseback but ended up as a mechanized Cavalry trooper. He arrived in Oregon when he was assigned to the Cavalry Reconnaissance Troop of the 96th Infantry Division. While stationed at Camp White near Medford, Oregon he met his future wife, Margie Campbell. He served with the 96th Division in the Pacific, taking part in the Battles of Leyta and Okinawa. Discharged on the West coast he stayed in Oregon.


He and Margie Campbell were married at Lake Creek, Ore. June 9, 1946. Margie preceded him in death May 9, 2009, after nearly 63 years of marriage. Robert worked as a ranch hand for the Lake Creek Cattle Company and as a plywood millworker for Southwest Forest Products of White City.

He is survived by three children and four grandchildren and their families. Services were held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery February 8, 2013.
