Longtime Yreka resident John Michael Miller passed away February 6, 2013, at Madrone Hospice in Yreka, Calif. He was 63 years old.
Mike was born June 25, 1949, in Ashland, Oregon to Robert and Helen Miller. He attended school in Ashland and graduated from Ashland High School. He was a member of the Southern Oregon band Whiskey River for several years prior to moving to Yreka. He loved any music, but especially loved country-western music. He enjoyed collecting die-cast cars. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge and Eagle Lodge, both of Medford.
Mike is survived by five stepchildren, Roger Dyer, of Myrtle Creek, Ore., Bill Dyer and Gennie Browning, both of Washington state, Gail Gardner, of Medford, and Markay Ebejer, of Hornbrook; his father, Robert Miller, of White City, Ore.; sister, Jeannie Davis, of Arizona; and 10 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Monday, February 11, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Henley-Hornbrook Cemetery in Hornbrook, Calif. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent to Madrone Hospice, 255 Collier Circle, Yreka, CA 96097. Online condolences may be made at
