Cy Jenson scored 40 seconds into overtime to lift South Medford to an 8-7 victory over North Medford in the Southern Oregon League hockey playoffs Tuesday at The RRRink.
North Medford will play Crater in an elimination game at The RRRink today. The winner will face South on Thursday in the double-elimination format.
Jenson, a sophomore, had three goals and four assists to help the Panthers rally back from a 4-2 deficit after two periods.
Preston Carney scored the game-tying goal with 45 seconds remaining in regulation to send the contest in overtime.
Carney had three goals and teammate Ryan Lund added two goals and one assist.
For North Medford, Will Spence had three goals and one assist and Jeremy Wu accounted for two goals and three assists. Max Henry tallied the other two goals for the Black Tornado.
On Monday, South Medford opened the playoffs with an 11-5 victory over Crater. Jenson had five goals and two assists to spark the Panthers.
