Helman Elementary practices preparedness

Helman Elementary School teachers teamed up with Ashland's Community Emergency Response Team volunteers to better prepare for natural disasters.

Though the drills focused heavily on disasters like fires, floods and major power outages, they were inspired by the recent Sandy Hook Elementary School shootings, organizers said.
