Oregon State Police troopers arrested a Los Angeles homicide suspect early this morning at an Interstate 5 rest stop north of Medford, officials said.
The suspect is wanted in connection with the murder of her mother in Los Angeles, OSP said in an news release.
The arrest stems from a homicide reported in Los Angeles on Feb. 14. Los Angeles Police Department officials reported that Laura Purviance, 24, shot her 61-year-old mother during a domestic dispute. (Correction: The date of the homicide has been corrected by police and this story has been updated to reflect newly released information.)
Purviance remains in OSP custody and has not been lodged in jail. LAPD detectives are traveling to Oregon to speak with her, officials said.
OSP detectives are assisting LAPD homicide detectives with the investigation.
