The senior guard hit 11 of 19 shots on his way to a career-high 31 points as the Black Tornado downed Grants Pass, 62-58, in Southern Oregon Hybrid play. Bailey also had six rebounds and two assists.
Kevin Baker, Prospect boys basketball
The senior registered 17 points and 13 rebounds as the Cougars defeated Paisley, 65-36, in a Mountain Valley League game.
Preston Carney, South Medford hockey
The senior tallied five goals and had two assists as the Panthers captured the Southern Oregon League championship with a come-from-behind, 9-4 victory over North Medford. South trailed 3-0 after the first period.
Alyse Darnall, Phoenix girls swimming
The junior powered the Pirates to co-second place in 4A/3A/2A/1A state swimming, winning the 100 freestyle (53.41), taking second in the 100 backstroke (59.19) and anchoring the winning 200 and 400 free relay squads.
Breanna Sapienza, Cascade Christian girls swimming
The junior won her fifth and sixth career state swimming titles with victories in the 100-yard butterfly (55.32 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.93). She set a 4A/3A/2A/1A meet record in the breast prelims (1:05.59).
