Mary Hurt Robertson passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013, at her home with family and friends at her side.

Mary Louise L'Amie was born in Astoria Oregon in 1923 to Jack and Ruby L'Amie, and lived there through high school. Mary's father, Jack, was the supervisor at the fish packing plant in Astoria. Mary and her sisters cracked crab and filleted fish there for spending money.

She married Bud Hurt in 1941. They had three children, Pat Ditch (Don), Mike Hurt (Linda), of Thomaston, Georgia, and Jack Hurt (Teresa), of Portland, Ore. Following WWII, the Hurts resided in Bend, Ore. and then moved to Medford, Ore. in 1953. Bud Hurt passed away in 1967.

Mary worked for many years at Boise Cascade as a payroll clerk, retiring in 1982. She married Vernon Robertson in 1972. They enjoyed 27 years together, traveling, camping, gardening, and spending time with family. Vernon passed away in 1999.

In her later years, she continued to enjoy playing cards, gardening, and was an avid reader. She took up volunteering at the Medford Library where she was involved in tutoring adult literacy. She also enjoyed volunteering in the library's used book store. She loved the Oregon Coast and made many camping and sight-seeing trips throughout her life. She was known as a Whiz at crossword puzzles. Her house was a wonderland for children and grandchildren; she kept a toy room that contained a little bit of everything that any child would enjoy.

Mary is survived by two children, Jack and Mike; stepson, Chuck Robertson (Fran); and stepdaughter, Joann Weber (Richard); 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Pat Ditch; and stepson, Tommy Robertson.

Grandma Mary, you were truly a blessing to us all and you will be missed.

The family will be having a private celebration of her life.
