  • The memorial service for Robert James Robinson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the South Valley Church, 4812 South Pacific Highway, Phoenix, Ore. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Litwiller Simonsen Funeral Home, Ashland. Interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery, Eagle Point, Ore.
    Mr. Robinson, 88, of Ashland, Ore., passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at an Ashland Adult Foster Care Facility.
    He was born January 29, 1925 in Pasadena, Calif., the son of Lottie and Albert Robinson. Mr. Robinson married Barbara Jean Maynard in Reno, Nev. and she preceded him in death August 31, 1999.
    During World War II, Mr. Robinson served in the United States Army. Following the war he worked as a concrete finisher and contractor.
    He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle of Ashland, Ore. and in later years the Victory Christian Fellowship in Medford.
    He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and panning gold.
    Mr. Robinson is survived by two daughters, Christina Jacobson (Timothy) and Mary Kay Sterrett (Mark); five grandchildren, Holly Volpe (Doug), Betsy Marotti (Josh), Calvin Jacobson (Jessica), Josh Sterrett (Jessica), and Justin Sterrett; nine great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Charles and Ernie Robinson.
    He was preceded in death by his wife; his grandson, Jacoby C. Jacobson; and two brothers, Albert and William Robinson.
    He loved his wife dearly and enjoyed spending time with his family. Robert will always be known as being a kind, gentle, loving, and tender husband, father, and grandfather.
    Mr. Robinson was a good example of his Heavenly Father's love.
